If you’re transiting through Manila, either from overseas to any domestic destination or vice-versa, The Wings is the perfect option especially if your layover is more than 8 hours, you want to have a quick shower and refresh, and you don’t want to get out of the airport.
What’s it like
The main accommodation are called “capsules” and though they may look a bit cramped in pictures, they’re actually not. You have plenty of space to sit, lie down, or fix your (carry-on) luggage and other stuff while waiting. You also get a free shower kit and a towel to use when you book a capsule.
Another option is the Lounge. This is best if you have a much shorter layover and you’re happy to just have a good place to stretch your legs. Anything that’s better than the crappy airport chairs really. Or worse, the cold floor. Obviously there is no privacy here and if you want to have a shower, you will have to have your own towel and shower kit.
There’s also family room and twin room and they are exactly what they say they are.
The showers are clean and almost always empty since travellers have different schedules. There’s free food (light snacks) in the kitchen and free internet as well.
Where it is
The Wings Transit Lounge is located on the 4th level of NAIA Terminal 3. From the arrival exit, take the left and head straight all the way. Once you reach the end, take another left until you reach the lifts to your right. After getting out of the lift, don’t just walk past Jollibee. Make sure to have a Yumburger, Jolly Spaghetti, or Chicken Joy. Or all. Now walk all the way towards Manila Runway, passing all the other food stalls until you reach McDonald’s. Turn right, then bear left, and head straight. You will find it just at the end of this hallway. Or better yet, ask the security staff.
How to book
Booking must be made two (2) days before your arrival. Walk-ins, while allowed, are highly discouraged. They are almost always fully-booked and at the time I was there waiting for my check-in time, I lost count of the number of people who enquired whether there are rooms/capsules available.
Capsules can be booked per time slot (A, B, or C). Each time slot is 7.5 hours long and you have the option to have an early check-in and a later check-out time for an extra fee.

Transiting through NAIA 1/2
If you’re transiting through NAIA Terminals 1 or 2, chances are your airline would not allow you to leave the terminal. Unfortunately, in that case, you cannot avail of the services of The Wings. You will have to find another way to have a shower, stretch your legs, and relax.

Would I recommend it?
Absolutely! If you’re like me who hates going out of the airport for whatever reason and you will be transiting through Manila for less than a day, The Wings Transit Lounge is a really affordable and good option to relax. Especially if you’re looking at the convenience, comfort, and ease of spending half a day while waiting for your next flight.
Happy travels!
